PASSING

PASSING ON THE LEFT OR RIGHT 21-304 (2) (3)
A driver may overtake and pass another vehicle proceeding in the same direction, either on the right or left when the unobstructed pavement is of sufficient width for at least two (2) or more lanes of moving traffic in the same direction or when all traffic is restricted to one direction.

OVERTAKING ANOTHER VEHICLE 21-303 (b)
A driver of any vehicle shall pass and overtake vehicles proceeding in the same direction on the left at a safe distance and again drive to the right side of the roadway when safely clear of the vehicle being passed.

VEHICLE BEING OVERTAKEN 21-303 (c)
The driver of the vehicle being overtaken shall give way to the right on audible signal and shall not increase his speed until completely passed.

VEHICLE MAKING A LEFT TURN 21-304 (a) (1)
The driver of a vehicle may overtake and pass on the right of another vehicle which is making or about to make a left turn.

No person shall drive off the pavement or main traveled portion of the roadway in passing and overtaking on the right.

A passing movement can be made on the right on a one-way street or where traffic is restricted to one direction of movement.

INTERFERENCE WITH OPPOSING TRAFFIC 21-305 (a)
No driver shall attempt to overtake and pass when the left side of the center of the highway is not clearly visible and free to oncoming traffic for a sufficient distance ahead to permit passing without interfering with the safe operation of any vehicle approaching from the opposite direction or vehicle overtaking must return to the original lane before coming within 200 feet of any approaching vehicle.
